Clear Casting Resin

Clear Casting Resin is a two-part epoxy system used for clear casting, river tables, jewellery and decorative artwork. Samrat FRP Traders supplies and imports this product for the Nepal market. Current Samrat Poly Resins, India documentation identifies it as a two-part epoxy system — a different resin chemistry from the polyester-family resins that cure with an MEKP and cobalt system.

The supplier documentation describes a 2:1 mix ratio by weight (resin to hardener), reaching an initial de-mouldable cure in about 24 hours and a full cure in about 72 hours. Published values list a 900 cPs viscosity at 25°C, which gives moderate self-levelling in a contained mould, and the documentation notes casting depths up to 30 mm per pour, with deeper work built up in stages.

Once fully cured the supplier documentation lists Shore D 82 hardness and under 0.2% shrinkage, alongside a crystal-clear, high-gloss finish with low bubble formation. The documented UV-stabilised formulation is described as more yellowing-resistant than a standard epoxy, though no clear epoxy is entirely immune to gradual colour change under prolonged UV exposure.
