Fire Retardant Resins

Fire retardant grades are specified where a project, a client or a regulation calls for defined fire behaviour. That requirement usually arrives as a named standard or classification, and the only meaningful way to answer it is with the supplier's own published test data for the exact grade — not with a general product description.

Samrat FRP Traders supplies and imports these products as a trader. We do not conduct fire testing and we do not issue fire ratings or classifications. Where your specification names a standard, send it with your enquiry so the requirement can be checked against the supplier's current documentation before anything is committed.

The two grades stocked here differ in fire-retardant chemistry rather than in handling. One uses a halogenated formulation; the other is isophthalic-based with a halogen-free, ATH-filled formulation. Their published viscosity, gel time and styrene content are identical, so choosing between them is a formulation decision rather than a processing one. One naming point causes regular confusion and is worth stating plainly: the "ISO" in ISO Fire Retardant Resin refers to isophthalic chemistry — it is not a reference to ISO certification.
