Putty for body repair
Body-repair putty is a filled, spreadable product used to restore a panel’s shape before priming and paint. Polyester Putty Resin is used as the resin in putty of this kind.
The finished putty’s working time, sanding behaviour and adhesion depend on its complete formulation — filler, additives and hardener — which belongs to the putty manufacturer.
Polish for body repair
The resin is also used to make polish for body repair. As with putty, the finished polish is a formulated product and its result depends on the whole formulation.
No finish, gloss or durability result is published for this grade.
What is not established
No Technical Data Sheet or Safety Data Sheet is offered for this grade here, so no viscosity, solids, cure or safety figures are published.
Documents issued for PET Resin list sheet, fibre-sheet and panel uses. They describe a different product role and are not evidence for this grade.
What to provide for an application review
Describe the putty or polish you make, the quantity you expect to take, your delivery location and the documents your own customers ask for. This lets the grade and the available supplier information be confirmed before an order.
Frequently asked questions
What is Polyester Putty Resin used for?
It is used to make putty and polish for body repair.
Is it applied directly to a vehicle panel?
No. It is a raw material for putty and polish producers. The finished putty or polish, with its filler, additives and hardener, is what goes on the panel.
Are sheet, laminate or panel uses published for this grade?
No. Sheet, fibre-sheet and panel uses appear in PET Resin documents, which are not used for this grade. Do not select it for lamination work on the strength of those documents.
