There are two completely different conversations about polyester putty, and they rarely happen in the same room. One is a body shop deciding which tin of filler to buy. The other is a manufacturer deciding which liquid resin to formulate that tin from. This page is the second conversation. It matters because the product name invites the first: people order a resin expecting a tub of ready-mixed filler and receive a drum of resin, which is what the name has always meant: the ingredient, not the tin.

Process context

The finished product is used by catalysing on a clean board, spreading in thin to moderate layers over a prepared surface, building deep repairs in several passes rather than one thick mass, tapering the edges into the surrounding surface, then sanding once fully hard and priming before paint. That is a formulation decision and it belongs to your approved procedure, not to a supplier’s general guide. We supply the resin and the documentation the manufacturer publishes for it. We do not issue filler ratios, additive packages or hardener pairings.

Can it be used as a laminating resin instead?

That is a question for the supplier documentation and your own process rather than something a general page should extend. This grade is sold for making putty and polish; if the job is fibre lamination, the general-purpose and isophthalic grades are the documented routes and there are selection guides covering that choice.
