The comparison starts with supplied appearance
GP White Resin and GP Clear Resin are general-purpose orthophthalic polyester grades for FRP work built on one base resin system. GP White Resin is documented as white-pigmented in its SDS; GP Clear Resin is published as clear. This is a product-selection fact, not a guarantee of the finished part’s visible colour.
The final appearance of an FRP part can also depend on reinforcement, pigments and the mould-side surface layer. A buyer should therefore identify what 'white' or 'clear' needs to mean in the actual build-up before selecting a grade.
One base specification, two appearances
Both grades use the shared GP base specification: 350–450 cPs viscosity, gel time under 8 minutes and 33–40% styrene content. The supplier SDS for GP White Resin confirms that the resin fraction, styrene content and processing characteristics are shared and that a white pigment package is the difference. The base values are published in the shared Technical Data Sheet (SPR-TDS-GCR).
Review the shared values against the actual mould, reinforcement, process and workshop conditions. Do not carry any figure to either grade that is not in the shared specification.
