Two products can both be described as white and still have different roles
GP White Resin is documented as white-pigmented and general purpose for reinforced FRP manufacture. GP Gelcoat Resin is published as a white, high-gloss polyester surface-coating product. The shared colour language does not make them substitutes.
The first selection question is whether the requirement is for the laminate built with glass-fibre reinforcement or for the visible mould-facing surface layer.
General-purpose laminate role
GP White Resin is the product to review for its published panel, moulding, hand layup, spray-up, cooling-tower, water-storage and general industrial FRP contexts. Its individual TDS and actual process remain the controlling references.
Mould-facing surface role
GP Gelcoat Resin is the product to review when the requirement is the mould-facing surface layer. Review its product data, mould condition, application method and required finish separately from the reinforced laminate behind it.
A safer buying decision
Avoid a broad request for 'white resin' without explaining the component and product role. State whether the requirement is structural laminate, visible surface, or both parts of a composite build-up, then use the relevant product TDS before finalising a grade.
