First RFQ decision
DMC or SMC requirement and finished component

Start with the correct moulding-compound context

A useful RFQ says whether the requirement is DMC or SMC. It also identifies the finished component and any stated material, project or finished-part requirement. This is more useful than a general request for polyester resin because the current product route is specifically published for DMC and SMC contexts.

If the requirement is actually a conventional FRP sheet, panel, general laminate, surface finish or fire-performance system, say so early. Those needs may belong to a separate product route and document set.

Review the current document and published commercial details

Use the current DMC/SMC Resin TDS as the technical reference. It publishes three-month shelf life and below-25 C cool and dry storage. Keep the product TDS with the purchase record rather than relying on a generic family description.

The catalogue is useful for the wider product range, but it lists different DMC/SMC viscosity, gel-time and specific-gravity figures. Do not use it to silently replace the current grade-specific TDS.

A concise RFQ checklist

Include: DMC or SMC requirement; exact resin grade if known; finished component; any stated product or finished-part requirement; compound or process context if relevant; expected quantity; packaging requirement; delivery city or location; and requested documentation.

Where a buyer has a drawing, purchase specification or an existing material reference, include it with the enquiry. This improves the product-selection discussion without asking for or publishing a compound recipe.

What this guide does not establish

TDS data do not establish stock position, delivery promise, process compatibility, a formulation, an electrical or fire rating, or finished-part approval. Confirm those topics for the specific requirement.

This guide deliberately does not provide filler, reinforcement, catalyst or additive quantities, mould conditions, cure schedules or production troubleshooting. Those details are not documented as a universal DMC/SMC Resin instruction.

Frequently asked questions

What should I include in a DMC/SMC Resin RFQ?

State whether the requirement is DMC or SMC, the finished component, any stated product or finished-part requirement, quantity, packaging need, delivery city/location and required documentation. Include process context if it is useful to the selection discussion.

Does this page confirm availability or finished-part suitability?

No. Packaging and order quantity for Nepal are confirmed on enquiry. Stock, lead time, delivery and system suitability must be confirmed for the actual requirement.
