Bonding a moulded FRP door skin to its core is a distinct step from moulding the skin itself, and depends on fast-curing resin and glass fibre reinforcement.

Producing an FRP door involves two distinct steps that are easy to conflate: moulding the decorative door skin panel itself, and then bonding that finished skin onto the door's core and frame. Process context

A layer of resin catalysed with an MEKP hardener and cobalt octoate accelerator is applied to the door core, reinforced with glass fibre at the joint for added mechanical strength, and the pre-moulded door skin is placed on top and pressed or clamped in position. Once the resin cures, the assembled door is trimmed, drilled for hardware and finished.
